Dear friends I tried installing the Windows XP (with SP2) on my new system (AMD 64 3000+ (939 pin), MSI RS 480 M2-IL, Samsung 80 GB Sata, 2X 256MB RAM (Dual Channel). During install I am getting error STOP: error C0000218 unknown hard error.

What is the possible reason for it ? Do I need to install RAID driver during system install in XP (Press F6 to install third party SCSI or RAID driver message in XP install)? or Dual channel RAM is creating some problem. I am not installing a floppy disk driver on my system, and for RAID drivers a floppy is provided with the MSI RS 480 M2-IL mobo.

or there is any other problem associated with system?

Thanks for your kind responses

a new error C0000221 unknown hard error

Dear expert No. 1

I installed the RAID driver from mobo CD, the previous C0000218 error gone but a new error has apeared C0000221 unknown hard error. My CD is surely scratched so I will try to install from a neat and clean CD. May be that help. I will later post message about that.
