wifi connection in pc

HI,
i am staying in college hostel in our college dey providing internet connection through wifi i want know how to connect my pc to wifi to use internet surfing.... please guide me me how to set d connection...is der any requirement s needed to set wifi....
please give me a proper n excellent tutorial....Thank u in advance....

wifi usb dongle is there in the market at about 1000-1200 rs and use it and i doono much but software must be there with that to connect to internet .connect in vista and i am sure it will have some good software in it which can connect u to ur nearest wifi hot spot
