Why Slow net speed in WinXP?

Hi,
I am using Reliance LG LSP 350 wireless phone for internet.

While using with Win98 speed is upto 132-138 kilo bits per second. But while using with Windows XP it is jus 1 to 2 kilo bits per seconds with same machine configuration.


Why is it so?

Machine confi:
--------------------
PIII 500
192 MB RAM
20 GB HDD with 2 partitions


Please clarify.

guess someone messed ur registry settings or u r not using proper drivers.
reinstall drivers and use software like internet booster and tcp optimizer to restore original settings

PC Configuration has got nothing to do with Net Speed !
It must be that Windows Xp is updating in the background!

Disable automatic updates for windows XP and use a fast web browser like Opera 9.01 or Mozila. Check that no other software is automatically updating itself. If so, disable it. Scan ur WinXP with a Spyware.
