i v recently installed SuSe 9.1 personal edition from Digit DVD Sug'04

i wud like to know which yahoo messenger i sud install
yahoo website gives 3 options

yahoo messenger for RedHat 6.x
RedHat 7.x
RedHat 8.0
RedHat 9

yahoo messenger for Debian Linux
yahoo messenger for FreeBSD Installation

which one sud i download for SuSe 9.1 Personal???

Download:


*download.yahoo.com/dl/unix/rh9.ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386.rpm

After download right click on the file. Select open with..

Open with "kpackage". It will show the package details.
Click install....
It' would ask for su password...
give it...
after you get "Result=0"
press Done on right hand pane.....
That's it! Done!

open console and type "ymessenger"
Your messenger is up and running!

How do i have the Yahoo messenger in my Start menu (don't know what its called in Linux). Few days back in installed FireFox on Fedora, there is no icons in desktop or in start menu.

You will have Yahoo messenger in
start(main menu) -> Internet -> Yahoo messenger



By default fedora comes with Firefox! . What is the neccessity to install again?

Why yahoo messagners? You can try some good clients avilable for *nix. Like zinc or others just google them
