which programming IDE to use?

    Hey guys i am new to programming and confused about which IDE to use i.e. borland or visual studio. i want to use it for c++, c#, java. pls help me out of this confusion.

    Visual Studio recently made Express Editions of their IDEs available for free. AFAIK, there are very few limitations to what you can do with these as compared to regular editions. Also, programs/software developed using these can be distributed also... Therefore, I would recommend going for VS EE...

    Same here, VS 2005 Express editions, they are better than the borland counterparts :) But I guess .net is necessary...

    For Java, if u r a beginner, I strongly suggest BlueJ IDE

    thanks everone for your replies. i think i'll go with visual studio express. is BlueJ a freeware or is a trial available?

    You can also try Eclipse.It is good too and free.

    BlueJ is a freeware!
    If you are working with Java, try JCreator too....
