Which Port

How can i detect the port a device is currently connected to?? I tried Device manager but its saying the wrong ports if ever it specifies

may b not the answer u r looking for... but cant stop my self to say this.... well may i ask u that how far is ur CPU from the DVU & ur keyboard?? cant u just look behaind the CPU to see the ports (Serial, USB, etc)??

no man. I should have made myself clear. I mean which port in sense the hexa decimal coding which is used in programming. For example in my case Device Manager shows my modem is in COM 3 (i doubt its correctness) and i would like to know the hex code for it. Got it??
