where is the downloaded software??

I downloaded Xine from internet using Synaptic package manager...
15 MB was downloaded but now i dont no wat to do??
SPM automatically installs softwares or wat??
Used Synaptic Package manager for the first time...

dude,they are stored in /var/cache/apt/archives directory-may be u can backup.but remember u need to "reload" option of synaptic or use "apt-get update" from terminal to get newer packages(softwares)
