what is .psd file

i have copied some pictures from my friends computer. But in the pictures folder there are some 02.psd, 03.psd, 04.psd, .... files. what are these files? if these are picture files how can i execute these files? please help.

They are Photoshop files. Use Irfanview or Photoshop to open them and export them to .jpg or whatever.

It's Simple, PSD: Photoshop Document, u can use Irfan View, XnView(my favourite) or open in Photoshop itself !!!
