Hi friends i have bought Sony DVD writer about a year back and it worked fine for about 7 months and from then it started giving errors while burning DVD's. Slowly after some days DVD's which are burned in my Drive only are started detecting and none other. And nw recently it stopped burning CD's also.... wats the problem with this??? Is there any solution for this??? Please help me friends.....

Right off the assembly line
This might be due to th DMA .
check if
>Ur drive is on the DMA mode it supports
>Do a Nero CD-DVD speed test to see the performance of ur cd drive
>the drive will show poor performance if the lens is clogged with dust particles try a cd lens cleaner solution (this is also experienced if the drive works on PIO mode
