I Wanted help for using Nero for writing dvd and cds

1) i was previously using easy cd creator and direct cd

now i am using nero
i want to know that in easy cd creator there was option of testing cd writing before actually buring it
how to get nero to test dvd or cd writing but not buring them
i am using Sony 810 A dvd writer


2)i purchased 4 x Dvd - R general
but what does general stands for

and for sony 810 A -R or +R which is good

3)and one more thing if i want to add files to dvd that is changed
and if i dont have add files to dvd that is changed what to do
i mean i want sometime to update files,folders and that is changed and
i sometime dont want to update files,folders that is on dvd so how to do it

also i want to add the new files only and keep the files that are already burned on dvd rw then what to do

read the manual comes with the software. or look in the help of the software that will give you necessory information

Please be clear in stating what u ask.

Anyways, from what I managed to figure out,
1) Goto Menu>Recorder>Burn Compilation>Burn tab>Check 'Simulation'

2) DVD-R is a standard, generally used for DVD videos. u can also use it to store data.

3) ur third question is beyond my comprehension.

sometimes when there are files on dvd and i want to put files in dvd that are only updated/changed how to do that

Open Nero Burning rom........ Then it'll show existing files on the DVD...... Then just drag your files to the DVD.... If the old one is with same name, it'll be overwritten............... But the disk space wont be recovered and the old data can be recovered with programs such as ISO Buster..........
