Broken In
The Config-

AMD Athlon 64 - 3200+

Asus A8N SLI Delux - Motherboard

512 x 2 - 400 Mhz Hynix DDR RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache

Seagate Barracuda HDD 7200 RPM - 160 GBs.

Windows XP Professional - Service Pack 2 (1033)

With Autopatcher Version 5.1 (5.1.33) - Updates

The Background-

I tried to record video to my computer hard drive from a Panasonic 3CCD miniDV camera and Sony DV D8 camera (DCR-TRV460E PAL) using Firewire cable (IEEE 1394) with Windows Movie Maker Version 2.1.2046.0 and Ulead VideoStudio 9.0.100.

The Problem-

Although I can see the video and capture it, the bottom part of the video flickers with a green strip. and the aspect ratio is strangely altered. It kind of has been zoomed to the middle of the video.

I tried to set the settings correctly and made sure the aspect ratio is PAL VCD and also aspect ratio of 4:3 and tried to capture with different capture plugins. I also reinstalled Ulead video studio just to be sure its not a software problem. But the problem persists... What shall I do?

YOU have to give me the Solution - Please! :(

Thanks in Advance.

To transfer DV to your PC use WinDV -

Use the interactive screenshot as a guide.

Install Panasonic DV codec, so you can edit you're captured video and recompress it using VirtualDub.

VirtualDub itself can be obtained here - www.virtualdub.org

All these tools are free. For MPEG2 (DVD) compression you'll need TMPGEnc which is payware.
