Broken In
Hai guys and gals(if any);
A week ago, I purchased a GENX USB storage thumb drive with 512 MB
capacity. When i inserted the drive into one of my PC's,I saw that it
initally had 480+ MB free. Along with the drive they provided a partiton
and securing software. I used it and partiotned my thumb drive into 2 and
secured the larger one with a password. The next day when i inserted the
drive i found that it had only 1 MB capacity (i think that is the size of
the smaller partition), The other drive was i reckon, hidden. I also found
that someone from my
household had also deleted that software's icon (which was accessible via
the smaller partion of the drive). Since then i had formatted the drive
numerously (about 20-30 times)
hoping to recover the lost space and failed. How do i get back my full
capacity.
I think the drive uses samsung chip. b'cos when i plug it in, Win XP recognises it as Samsung USB mighty drive.
P.S. I purchased it when i was on a tour to U.A.E. Forget any hopes of
returning it and i dont remember the name of the software. The software was
plug and play , no installing.

generally if u buy an USB drive u will see the capacity will be less .because for them 1gb is 1000mb ...actually it is 1024 Mb . they have a different math . so u will get only 490+- MB if u buy a 512 stick . u bought that from UAE with a lesser price en?very smart....... so expect a lesser performance also . I think u got an OLD wine in a NEW bottle.. anyway through dos command try to nevigate it and delete all . go to genx website and download the drivers .... but I cannot guaranty this will solve ur prob .............better if u buy kingston , transend ....................... i think genx s***s
