USB 1.1 to USB 2.0

Hello All...

My friend has USB 1.1 support on his PC, tranferring files on which is a real pain due to the slow speed of the 1.1 interface.

My question is that whether one can upgrade to USB 2.0 just by upgrading the drivers or is there some hardware requirement as well?

If its just the matter of upgrading the drivers...Can anyone gimme the link to the driver site??

USB transfer thing is a total hardware thing

u can find it written on the cable on the mobo
atleast for my USB its there

so u cant do it by upgradin the drivers

both are completely different technologies. while usb 1.x uses a contant voltage of 5V, usb 2.0 uses a differential voltage signalling system.

ur best best is to get a usb card for about 300-400 bucks.
