Unreal Tournament 3 System Requirements Confirmed

- Also, the game has been delayed to Q1 2008

Well, to gamers' anger/delight, Epic and Midway have finally confirmed what your PC should look like in terms of specs, in order to run their upcoming first-person shooter Unreal Tournament 3. Gamers (mostly those not hardcore) should take into consideration the second batch of specs listed below, as that's exactly why they are called Recommended Requirements. Fans of the series should also know that Jolt.co.uk has a few details on some delayed PS3 games, UT3 among
them.

So here are requirements, according to Evil Avatar...:

Minimum System Requirements
- Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
- 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
- 512 Mbytes of System RAM
- NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
- 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

Recommended System Requirements
- 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
- 1 GBytes of System RAM
- NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
- 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

UT3 marks the return of the world’s premiere first-person shooter to the PC, and its debut on the PlayStation 3. As you can imagine, the game makes full use of Epic's powerful Unreal Engine 3, taking everything from visuals to gameplay to a whole new level. In the game, players engage in intense and hyper-realistic battles with human players online, or against the fiercest Unreal AI.

"Unreal Tournament 2007 is the newest addition to one of, if not the greatest multiplayer PC franchises ever created. UT2007 will be a major evolution for the Unreal series. Fans will be blown away by the next generation gameplay, modifiability and visuals that Epic's Unreal Engine 3 technology will bring to the franchise. Without question this will be the most visually stunning and in-depth Unreal Tournament game to-date," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway, at the time they were announcing the game's entering the development process.

Back then it was called UT 2007, but they switched back to the traditional numbering (UT3) in the meantime, so rest assured, we're talking about the same game they announced back in 2005. The game's PS3 version has been pushed back to a Q1 2008 release, according to website Jolt.co.uk. So, how's your PC going to handle UT3?

the requirements are fine, not too high end like bioshock
Bioshock was a brilliantly coded example of Unreal Engine 3.It's system requirements weren't that high as Rainbow Six Vegas had, infact Yesh from our forum itself had completed the demo on an Intel GMA X3000 chipset at 800x600 resolution.Imagine an UE 3 engine running on an onboard chipset is a great achievement.

Coming back to the Unreal Tournament 3,I think the requirements are pretty fine.I hope same goes for Gears Of War too.We need heavy optimisations on each of these upcoming games to be able to enjoy it atleast at playable frame rates.I'll be adding a gig of additional RAM so perhaps it might help reducing the load times a bit.The rest of the requirements are almost met by my current PC.:)

Fingers crossed for it to be successful.I am waiting for both UT 3 along with Gears of War more than Crysis(for some reason).I hope they code & optimise Gears of War as much as they can as many people are heavily relying on this port to be a success.Taking into consideration PC users are getting extra content we would need this game to be ported decently.:)
