UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

I'm running XP SP2.
After I installed hitman silent assasin, the display driver went into an infinite loop and the system restarted.On restart I get the above message.
I tried using teh recovery console but it isnt working.
And when i try to read c: from DOS, it gives some error and does not read it.
Is there any way fo restoring windows without reinstalling?

wow i think ur MBR got fried . try restoring the MBR

How do you restore MBR? Isnt that wht the recovery console does?

Found it.forgot to issue fixmbr.
Will try that and get back.

boot ur pc in xp bootable CD and select recover console

type FIXMBR

pass Y

may this help u



or

run fdisk


see wether ur C: is active partition or not if not then do it active
