Its not a virus. It is a system process.
You can see a description of all the background processes here
*www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/

wowexec.exe isnt a virus, already said.
It runs when a 16-bit process is running. Try searching and stopping that process. wowexec.exe itself isnt the problem.

BTW, does the name of wowexec.exe appear shifted towards right (a little bit) in Task Manager. If yes, then most probably another process will be there right below it ( generally ntvdm.exe ). End that process and wowexec.exe will also stop automatically.

both are maintained by same company Uniblue Systems ( earlier known as LIUtilities )
