unable to view secured pages

I recently made a fresh installation of XP (prof) + SP1
IE is unable to open gmail, yahoo secured page, hdfcbank netbanking.
Installed Avant browser.... same....... could n't open
Installed firefox 1.0.2 ... it also could not open secured pages... :!:
Help me

wel bud the Thumb rule is to have SP2 with all the Updates..if not Minimum is SP2 for Internet .... in IE go to Tools -> Internet options ->security ->Custom level ..and check the options , also Avent is based on IE so there is not much diff..but Firefox..hmm :? ..also u can do is when u see the connected icon in taskbar ..go to properties and see wether u have made any changes there ....
