Allright here's the config:
A laptop and pc both with linksys wi-fi 802.11g cards installed with drivers etc...(The laptop with winxp sp2 home and pc with winxp sp2 pro) .They are running in ad-hoc mode.I have one wired cable connection which is connected to the pc and which is shared with ics obviously...Now the problem is that i cannot share the files across the systems. I have ZA firewall installed and disabled on the main pc. When i go to the windows "View Workgroup Computers" I see the laptop there but when i dobule click it gives that common error message about the lack of permission and to ask the admin(ME!) about the problem.Ping and internet sharing work perfectly. The pc connected to the broadband has ip 192.168.0.1 and subnet 255.255.255.0 and the laptop has been configured to automatically get ip(i tried manual but same problem). Btw even when i try to access main pc from laptop i get same error...Any help greatly appreciated because i have been stuck with this stupid problem for 2 weeks now...
Ps: I have gone to Start>Run>and typed \\ip address and i still get the same error

The problem is of Permissions.Create a account with the same credentials i.e same username & password on both the laptop & the pc & try accessing the shares now.
I hope you have shared folders before that.

What I am going to ask is very trivial .. but not explained your posts.
Is "File and Printer Sharing" Enabled in your connection ?
In your network properties, check if "File and Printer Sharing over Microsoft Networks" present and checked. (in both systems).
Also check for Windows Firewall, it's the main culprit in most cases. It could be enabled in one of the system.
(Control Panel -> Network Conn -> LAN -> right click Properties -> Advanced Tab )

thanks for helping but i fixed it after googling some more...it seems to be a problem in SP2 you have to go to registry and edit the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CONTROL>LSA
then change the value of restricanonymous to 0
