unable to install XP

i am running windows vista ultimate now..but whenever i try to install XP, after the installation files get copied and when the system reboots it gives a error message. " A disc read error occured. Press Ctr+Alt+Del to restart. ". The CD is fine. i can install Vista, but the problem arises with XP. please help.

Are you installing it in the same drive? If you are, partition your hard drive into 50/50. Then install XP in the empty partition.

Try to slipstream hdd driver in ur xp installation disk & retry installation of xp.

Disc read error would surely mean some corrupt files in the cd.yes sometimes the cd can be copied even though the files are corrupt.

AFAIK more than one Windows can be installed on 1 partition. while installing it installs in a new folder called windows2 or something.not sure about this though.Anyone please clear my doubt.

Try using Vlite so that you have Dual Boot

agree with conqueror..the disk has to be faulty..they burn properly but might be corrupt..
