Unable to install Redhat 9.0

Hi all,
I tried to install Red hat 9.0 in my friend's system , he is having Serial ATA (SATA) Hard disk(samsung) which is not detected by red-hat automatically .

In the first screen itself before installing , "NO HARD DRIVE FOUND " MESSAGE is displayed.

Please tell me how to solve this problem ?

because RH9 uses the 2.4 kernels, there is no sata support by default. The solution is to try a newer distro such as Fedora Core 4
