2.Mother Bourd - ASUS A7N8X - VM (or) MSI RS480M2
3.Ram - 512 MB DDR 400 HYNIX
4.HDD - 80 GB SATA SAMSUNG/SEGATE
5.Monitor - 17" Monitor (or) 15" Monitor
6.Keybourd - LOGITECH
7.Mouse - LOGITECH OPTICAL MOUSE
8.Cabinet - ?
9.Power Supply - ANTEC / VIP 350 W POWER SUPPLY
10.Optical Drive - LITE ON / SONY COMBO DRIVE
11.Graphics Card - XFX GEFORCE 6600 CARD
12.TV Tuner Card - ?

This is the Configuration given by my dealer. He says it is the best configuration.


I have few doubts u guys please help me .

1. What is the speed of my CPU ? What are all the things that is to be considered while selecting the cpu ?is that 64 bit ?
2. Do i get sound card and video card with the mother board ? Is that enough to play the latest games ?And also tell me about the sound & video card.
3. Is the speed of my ram is good enough to run all the latest games ?
4. Which company monitor is best preferred? (not LCD)
5. Is This graphics card enough to play latest games?
6. I wanna a best tv tuner card which is not so costly and which has a good money Value
7. what are the other things that is to be bought with my computer.

U guys can also suggest me the good configuration for cpu, motherbourd, graphics card, tt card and others.
Please tell me the Price of all this.
My Budget is Maximum Rs.35,000 It should not Exceed This.

the sped of 2500 is 1.667 ghz. i dont know of any sempron 3200.however as, the mother board mentioned is a socket 939 which doesnt support sempron, it's probably athlon64 3200,whose spd is 2.0 ghz. however, u should know one thing that for processors the clock speed is not that important,whats important is the amount of load the proccy can take, and though apparently amd processors have less spd,they can perfom more calculations per clock cycle,so the the effectiveness of the mentioned processors are equi to 2.5 ghz,and 3.2 ghz processors,hence the naming convention.
sempron processors are not 64 bit.they are rather budget processors.but athlon64 is a 64 bit processor.
both ur motherboards have onboard videos.but as u re buying a sep graphics card, i'd suggest u go for an asus a7n8x-e-dlx for sempron or a8n-e for athlon64
both the boards i mentioned have onboard 6 channel audio codecs which are the best onboard audio available in market.and u r already buying a graphics gard.
ur ram is good enough.but make sure get original hynix rams and also u buy 2 256mb sticks instead of a single 512mb stick.
graphics card is also good,but go for 6600gt instead of plain 6600.
i've always used samsung monitors and they have never let me down.if u have enough dough, i suggest u go for a s/s 793mb.gr8 picture.
u havent mentioned an ups.
also, i'll suggest u go for a cd-rw and a dvd-rom instead of a combo.
and finally, people can always give u best suggestions if u post ur budget.so post how much u are willing to pay,and the people here will try to make sure u get the most for ur money.

in that case, i'll suggest the followin config..
athlon64 3000(939) - 7.8k
msi rs480-m2 6.7k
rest of the price u get here

as the board u r buying already has v good onboard graphics(equ to the radeon X300), u can go fo the graphics card later.rt now the onboard graphics will allow u play most of the modern games at low settings.u can invest the money saved on a 17" monitor.

i'd suggest
2*256 mb ddr400 ram
seagate 120 gb sata hdd
lite-on combo
s/s syncmaster 753s
altec lansing avs-300(speaker)
a standard atx cabinet(make sure it is airy nd with enough bays)
powersafe 400 w smps
it will come to approx 33k.
i dont hv much idea abt tv tuner cards.hope sum1 helps u abt that.

Try the onboard graphics(X200) of the MSI RS 480 mobo. It is a derivative ot ATI x300 GPU. It will let U play all current games at low setings.U can always go for a better card if not satisfied.The board supports onboard 5.1 sound, so no add sound card.

Mother bourd (MSI RS480M2) -1. I want to know whether there is AGP slot is in this mother bourd if yes then its speed i.e 4x or 8x,
2. I want to know about the video ram of the Onboard video card.
3. Whether this Onboard video card is enough to play all the latest games.

That motherboard don't have no AGP slot, but a PCI-X 16x slot. So there are AGP and PCI-Xpress cards out there, with PCI_Xpress being faster. Your motherboard also sports a X300 onboard graphics featuring 128MB DDR memory.
It should be enough to play all the latest games, as already pointed out to you, but on low settings.

The only difference between AMD64 3000+ and AMd64 3200+ is clock speed. The 3000+ runs at 1.8GHz whereas the 3200+ runs at 2.0GHz.

Your cpu supports dual channel configuration memory modules. Dual channel memory configuration will ideally double memory throughput using only ordinary ddr ram. But u will need atleast 2 ram sticks to get dual-channel (duh?). Hence the 2x256MB.

Transcend or corsair seems to be the best ram manufacturers around.
U will need DDR400 ram modules.

"s/s" in that post stood for Samsung.

I have problem in selecting the hard disk what hard disk can i buy ?

1.seagate barracuda 80 GB\7200 RPM (or)
2.seagate 80 GB SATA(or)
3.other (ur choice)

What is the difference between this two ? Which one is the best?

What is that double layer DVD Writer ? What is difference between ordinary DVD writer & double layer DVD Writer ?

What can i buy ? lite-on combo drive or a dvd writer ? can a dvd writer write a cd?

Does a combo drive cause any problem?

What cabinet ,keybourd ,mouse can i bye ? what does it cost (approx)?
What is the difference between optical mouse and laser mouse ?

I too have a question on the hard disk part...

I already have 80 GB Seagate 7200 RPM hard disk. I am planning to buy a new computer. If I buy a motherboard which supports SATA hard disk for example ASUS A8N-E, then will I be able to connect my present hard disk? Also, can I connect one SATA and one normal hard disk simultaneously? Thanks in advance.

You should get 1gig of Ram since you also use the same ram for Video. You need 2 since it is dual channel and especially if you use the integerated graphics. The difference between DDR266 and DD400 is almost 100%. So you are looking at quite a performance hit by getting cheaper slower ram.

This is a great system to watch all the new games. I am not sure about playing them since it is quite slow. As an example DOOM3 gets 14frames/second on this while installing an XT800 card gives you like 110 frames/second.

I think the price difference of the AMD3000 and AMD3200 is like 5K, 7.5K for the 3000 and 12.5K for the 3200... But not sure..

About 450 bucks :) the Verbatium double layer DVD disks are going for rs 470 while the single layers are about rs 20-30....

You get to store double the data on double layers :)


DVD writers also write to CD's....
