It is definitely not real. It shows me variable and unbelievable results. I am using Dataone Broadband at 256 kbps. I've tested it 3 times. Each time, there were different results.

    First time:

bits per second (bytes per second)
    Download speed: 1,534,360 (191,795)
    Upload speed: 144,093 (18,012)

    Link

    Second time:

bits per second (bytes per second)
    Download speed: 478,875 (59,859)
    Upload speed: 143,019 (17,877)

    Link

    Third time:

bits per second (bytes per second)
    Download speed: 244,894 (30,612)
    Upload speed: 144,042 (18,005)

    Link

Now, real thing. Dataone provides 256/64 Kbps (Download/Upload). Download speed in first time was really unbelievable. Go and check it yourself.

Ur speed is bound to change to some extent everytime u chk it coz of
various factors like the load on servers, traffic, etc.

In this case u can take the test 2-3 times at different time of the day and
take an average to get ur actual speed...

    @delta
Regarding bsnl, is it 256 Kbps or KBps...
