Taskbar remains blank in Win XP

Hi all,
My Win XP pro SP2 PC has generated a problem all of a sudden. Whanever I open folder, the name does not display on taskbar. The taskbar remains blank. There is no trace of any open winow. so rather than using the mouse, I have to navigate among the windows by [alt+tab]This problem is not there for other users of the same PC. What might be wrong?

post ur system config
this kinda things happen due to less than recommended configs running winXP

also check for spware/adware in ur windows XP by some proggy like Webroot Spy sweeper or kinda

or else

as everyone in here says
