i have problem with my system sounds .i also cant hear sounds in yahoo chat while i can listen music or my cds.i'm having avrack sound system.i have checked for all the settings in control pannel but still having problem whenever i go to yahoo chat rooms a msg diplay that "ur audio system dont support audio compression".pls friends tell me what should i do.by system sounds i mean to say the sounds when we clik comes.in my another pc i have the same sound card but can listen there all the sounds.thanks in advance.

Have you tried reinstalling your sound card drivers? It may help your cause, give it a try.
Also, what exactly are specifications of your sound card? If you provide it here, we can find out what features it supports and which it doesnt..
