AMD A6-3650 @ 6.4k (Flipkart: AMD A6-3650 APU with Radeon HD 6530D) - A6-3650 has 4 cores and great built-in graphics. Better balanced compared to i3-2100 and for your work, you don't need Phenom II X4 955. :)

Gigabyte GA-A55M-S2V @ 4k - (it's around 3.6k on Flipkart - Flipkart: Gigabyte GA-A55M-S2V Motherboard)

4GB G.skill Ripjaws X 1600 Mhz RAM @ 1.6k (1600 Mhz is important - Flipkart: Gskill RipjawsX DDR3 4 GB PC RAM)

Corsair CX430v2 Power Supply @ 2.4k (really important. Check out on TheITDepot.com or TheITWares.com)

Logitech MK320 Wireless Keyboard and Mice combo @ 1.6k. (Flipkart.com: Logitech Wireless Combo Desktop MK320)

WD/Seagate Hard Disk? It will depend on what you want. 500 GB is like 4.8k now. :(

Cabinet? Your choice. Buy locally.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If i buy 250 GB Hard Disk now and later, when the prices comes down maybe, after 6 months - can i be able to fit in 1 TB HDD with that 250 GB?

Is the above config USB 3.0 compatible?
I also want DVD/RW.

Will the above configuration suffice if i want to play occassional games and do photo, video editing?

Also, I will keep my PC switched ON during most of the day and at night i will download movies.

The motherboard does not have USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 6gbps.

You can buy a USB 3.0 PCIe 1x card and add to the motherboard.

If you want an A75 motherboard which comes with USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 6gbps built-in, it will cost around Rs. 7000 or less.

example, Gigabyte GA-A75M-D2H. Check on SMCInternational.in

Yes, it is the best for ocassional gaming and video editing in your budget. This is AMD fusion platform. A good GPU is integrated. Much better than Intel i3-2100.

For DVD Writer, add Rs. 1000 extra. Overall, it might end up around Rs. 25,000 if you go with A75 motherboard.

Will i be able to add 2 HDD inside with the motherboard GA-A55M-S2V? I mean, if i buy a lower size HD now and later if i buy 1 TB HDD, will i be able to run both the HDD's together? (Is it recommended?)

Btw, in Cost to Cost Pricelist they are selling 1TB SATA WD for 4700. Is it reliable, can i buy that?

  • Is it true that i3 2100 with GPU is better than AMD A6-3650?
I guess, the motherboard price for i3 2100 is lower than motherboard for A6-3650. So, is it possible to buy a GPU for i3 which is cheap (within my budget) and which can attain the performance of A6-3650's inbuilt GPU? (I was just confused about this, because i guess i3 2100 is faster processor and better at multi-tasking)
  • Which motherboard among the two above is better performance wise?

Your advises please?

i3 series is dual core & A6-3650 is quad core processor.with time more & more softwares will take full advantage of 4 cores so a 4 core processor is future proof compared to a 2 core processor.also the tasks you mentioned(HD,multimedia)integrated graphics of 3650 is more than enough for you.so by getting only a processor(a6-3650)& mobo you will get a system with 4 cores(more future proof)& more powerful integrated graphics.

btw there are many softwares which can use 4 cores now-a-days like winrar/winzip etc for compressing/decompressing files, encryption softwares like truecrypt, photoshop, video encoding softwares etc.

whitestar_999, agreed with you. Apart from software, games are also becoming highly multi-threaded, BF3 and Crysis 2 are the perfect example of it. So better stick with a true quad core cpu.

Read it.

It is boring for us to answer all those queries again and again.

yeah. Compared to Flipkart's price, it is lower by Rs. 150. You can buy half plate chicken biryani in that. :)

In any case, a GPU which is an improvement over A6-3650's IGP, would cost you Rs. 3600. So, you can see which carries more value. i3-2100 or A6-3650.

get Gigabyte GA-A55M-S2H @ 4.5k instead of Gigabyte GA-A55M-S2V.
if you'll be overclocking that is. yea, S2H is recommended.

S2V is fine for OP's casual purpose.

^^ lengthy discussion...thread starter will rather get confused.

@candlestick

processor wise a6-3650 and i3-2100 are same. a6-3650 has 4 cores and i3-2100 has 2 cores.

one core vs one core....i3-2100 is faster. but then a6-3650 has 4 cores...so a6-3650 will be faster in multitasking.

either processors will not make any difference for your job.

what should matter for u is, which processor offers u more....and a6-3650 wins here.

a6-3650's graphic processor Radeon hd 6530d just butchered i3-2100's intel 2000. so, a6-3650 will be much faster in games and u won't even need to buy a graphic card.

plus...a6-3650 includes a special thing known as UVD which is Universal Video Decoder....it will also make movie playback smooth.

overall...a6-3650 is the better package for your purpose.
