Even your 64 bit rig will be as good as obsolete if he uses a 32 bit OS.

I didn't understand what you mean by that.

An Athlon64 is faster than an AthlonXP period. The OS used has nothing to do with it.

It has to be faster as it came out much later in the timeline of AMD processor development. However anyone who wants to use a 32 bit OS is better of with a faster 32 bit processor than a 64 bit one. That's the point I am trying to make. f you are going to use windows xp home 32 bit on a 64 bit machine I don't see the point. However if you use a 64 bit OS, for example I use Open SuSE 10.1 on my laptop, 64 bit turion, then it makes sense. Any extra money spent on puchasing a processor for a 32 bit OS can be spent on dual cores or higher clockspeed

A faster 32-bit proccy may be better for a 32-bit OS, but where are you going to get a 32-bit proccy?
There's no point even mentioning 32-bit or 64-bit because all proccys currently available are 64 bit and have been for almost 2 years now. It's not like you have to pay a premium for 64-bit that you should even consider 32-bit.
