me having v6211 its grt for home user . 15 inch screen also grapic card also vry nice its price is also about 40k if u r thinking 512 then the best thing is to upgrade another 512 ram for 1500 basss i think its best i just brought it 20 days before . but the notebook as been stopped now so buy as fast u can its vry nice . the best is lcd screen the best lcd i have an lcd on my pc but it not like my laptop . dude i think u can also go for dell the amd 64x2 laptop they r also nice but u need to show off to people and a bit of gaming and surfing about 4 hour then onl for compaq .

see the main thing of laptop i shlould say is u should not give it too any one not evevn your bro bc its too delicate u should alsotry not to give to any enigneer <computer> only who know it beeter than only . bc man of the lallu engineer have not seen vista only the dont know how to switch off m alptop also . thats whyy basss . i think dell os also nice but noo styleee ,its simple .i think the new series is also nice having some stlye hey but its 14 inch . the main thing in these widescreen is my 15.4 screen looks like 14 inch and and 14 inch looks lke 13 i think haa if u r comfartable then the dlll new series is also nice if u have anyy doubt u can pm me

Hope those links help u!

My budget is also same (I bought a month Back) ... but anyway within a month ... prices got reduced.. So u can get a Very good laptop for that price!:)

What i advice u is ...
If the look of the laptop is most, then go for HP! But u have to spend more than 55k.. But anyway Dell New inspiron Models i haven't seen yet! but seems little promising!

But dont go for HCL,Zenith,.... Also Toshiba!! Service wuld be worst!!

Problems with DELL is
i. Delivery time
ii. No showroom
iii. Transaction by Phone

But anyway it is a global brand, U dont have to pay VAT arnd 2000Rs. and Service it is g8!:)

^^^ as suggested by ganesh go for dell(1520 or 1720). Excellent after sales service(specially their complete care with warranty for accidental damage). also new dell laptop are excellent by performance(santa rosa processor and nvidia 8000 series graphics card with dedicated memory) and by looks(available in 5 colors with 2 MP webcam) I think no company is currently offering laptop with such features in indian market(may be I am wrong)

I will suggest Go for Inspiron 1520 here you would get a good config without any modification... by dafault Trulife screen, 128 dedicated graphics, Choice of color, 90 watt power, Webcam, RAM upgradable upto 4 GB (Highest among series). I saw modification cost more than shifting to another model number.

Price under 50k but if you can bargain you can save some more. Yes dont forget to take Complete cover warranty in just Rs. 1100 for one year.
