i want to buy a new pc and was lookin for a good config
This section is full of AMD configs so no prob bout that but i
wanted an INTEL pc config to get a decent idea bout the prices.

My budget is around Rs. 45k
The machine is gonna be used mainly for
1.)Gaming
2.)Connecting my Sony handycam (DCR-HC40)
3.)Watching DVD movies

Also are there any branded pcs at this price (Pref HP\Compaq)

for an intel config i suggest u wait for a while , u can then go for the pentium d dual core procc and the 955 chipset board. but if u want it now then u can go for the following config,

Asus P5AD2-E-PREMIUM - 8000/- (approx)
XFX 128 MB GEFORCE 6600 GT - 10,500/-
512 MB DDR2 533 MHZ CORSAIR/KINGSTON - 5000/-

80 GB SEAGATE SATA N.C.Q - 3000/-
Liteon CD-RW - 1400/-
Liteon DVD ROM - 1500/-
Any good cabinet - 1100/-
Power safe 400W Gold plated smps - 1600/-
Logitech MM KB/OPTICAL MOUSE - 1100/-
Numeric/APC 600 VA UPS - 2050/- (APC will be more expensive)
Altec Lansing VS3151 R - 6000/- (best 5.1 speakers for movies)

Total - around 57,000/-

buddy this is the best i could suggest for intel. now if u want to get in ur budget u will have to compromise on things like going for a 915P Board and going for ddr ram instead of ddr2. also u will have to go for a low end card such as the 6600 NON GT 128mb. to get this config near ur budget i suggest u change the following components only,

ASUS P5GD1 - 6000/- (approx)
512 MB DDR 400 MHZ RAM KINGSTON - 3200/-
CREATIVE INSPIRE 5200 - 5000/-
GAINWARD 6600 NON GT - 7000/-

Doing these changes will save u around 7000/- bucks . Sorry to have exceeded ur budget but i am not able to find any more alternatives. wait for others also to suggest.

Go for Amd 64bit

If you can spare 10-40k more it would be better

SYSTEM in abt 50k

Amd 64bit 3000 winchester,prefer amd 3200,
7-7.5k,or 8.6-9.25k or higher
Asus A8N-E or MSI alternative ,8.1k or higher
total=>=15k probably higher than 15k

Intel 3.0ghz + Gigabyte 915 or something in 15k

2 X 512mb ddr 400 ram,in abt 6k the brands that are supported

160gb seagate sata ncq-4150

128mb geforce 6600gt pci-e xfx or some other brand,abt 10k

400watts psu or higher if required,zebronicss if recommended with a cabinet
abt 2k

sony fdd

liteon dvd rom 16x , though it may not read some dvds

cd-rw,my benq is ok /fast but it may spoil your cds becuase of its sticky flap or something

all this in abt 3k

microsoft internet keyboard + microsoft ms optical wheel mouse or microsoft basic optical mouse if you don't find the first one

altec lansing 251(45watts rms) 3850

dude mohit? do u have some grudge against akshayt? it is for every 1 to see that you are behaving in an abnormal way wherever he posts. Atleast, he is trying to help the other guy. Spamming is when you post something un-related to the post. and posting again is not spamming.... hope this is clear to you. I'd again request raaabo to remove the post count altogether. It is creating too much fuss.

thanks but dual core proc will anyway exceed my budget when they arrive.

also does the Asus P5AD2-E-PREMIUM have decent onboard graphics as i think i might buy the 6600gt later.

is not about the post count. i dont like the way he clutters up things. go through his posts and a majority of them u wont understand wht he has written. he clutters them himself. and i am sorry if i got a lil worked up. and whats wrong if i advised him to use the edit function ???? just go through his posts and u will see that he does this crap in every thread.
