well, when you edit the movie in any software and save it, the quality gets degraded, as it gets compressed. you will not get the same quality as in the original raw file that you had uploaded to the computer.

plus the quality on a hadycam is not comparable to what you see on the tv, i.e.broadcast quality, they use much better equipment, what you record on a handy cam are something like 320x240 size video.

no, upgrading ram gives you faster results, but not better results

if ur compressing, use codecs like divx or vp7, btw are ur uncompresses videos of good quality?

128MB RAM is just not good enough for Video encoding & related stuff. You need to upgrade the RAM to alteast 512MB. FireWire is also a good option for fast transfer. Since you wanna purchase anyone, I recommend you to go for more RAM. USB is good enough for video transfer.
Regarding Video quality, it all depends upon the encoding quality and Size. Make sure you apply right settings. Never try to compare the video shown on Cam with that of video on PC. It will vary. Contrast and colour saturation will definetly differ.

A total of 512 RAM is recommended for Video encoding. If you are tight on your budget, have a 128MB now...so you will be havin 256MB, which is enough time being. Anytime you can expand to 512MB.

ok thanks but one more question please can i able to purchase capture card instead of firewire if i want or these are differ i think with capture card i can also capture from TV etc. but not with firewire thanks in advance

Firewire is better and cheaper solution than purchasing a capture card that has analog RCA and S-Video inputs. So for handycam video transfer Firewire will do. Now it is left to you whether to go for expensive Capture card depending upon your need of T.V video capturing. I suggest you stick to Firewire and upgrading your PC RAM first. Moreover Capture card also needs more RAM to perform well.
