I've got a 14" Microtek monitor with Athlon 2400+ & A7V266-MX mobo. The problem is that while installing SuSE Linux 9.1 (which came in August's DVD), as soon as the first screen comes, in which it asks for the language after choosing manual installation, the display of the screen goes off with a vertical line in the middle of the screen and that too goes off after a fraction of second. When I switch the monitor off & on again, it again goes off. The monitor works fine otherwise in XP & redhat too. Please find the remedy.

I haven't installed suse but this usually happens if the installation uses a default screen resolution not supported by your monitor

Just before the installation begins - the installer gives you the option of doing it manually or of specifying additional parameters - here choose your screen size as 640*480 or 800*600

If it still doesn't work you can also try specifying the refresh rates as 60 hz or 72hz or 75hz or other values supported by your monitor ( to see this look under the "adapter" tab of your display properties under windows ).

In the boot menu there is no option of changing the referesh rate or the resolution. From where it can be changed prior ot the installation?
