starting problem

hi friends,



i have got problem with starting the system. whenever i start the sytem 5 out of 10 times it give me message "Boot & select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device" but when i close and then start the system it runs fine. can i know what could be the problem

Btw. What has been configured as the primary boot device in your bios?

This seems to be a hardware issue, either the hard drive or motherboard is not functioning as it should.

firstly doing anything...enter BIOS....check ur BOOT order..

if this doesnt helps..if u can ..only if u can update ur BIOS...there could be problem due to corrupt BIOS...

Next if this does not helps check ur HDD cables...

Lastly u can

Reformat, and reinstall the operating system.

If this is not helping then.....

It can happen due to many reasons too...like power supply having problem...get new one...if not that then HDD is gona die..u will have to get new one...happy HUNTING

just check your ide cables and boot device prority

i have checked all the data cables and have cleaned the ram and other things but it dint work out. now when system restart automatically that time i press power button and shutdown the system but it starts automatically then i have to shutdown from windows and it shut down properly

Didnt understand what u r trying to tell..please write more clearly..preferably in smaller senteces..and yes it will be great if u plug out and plugin back all cables..like power,IDE,Sata(if any)...
check the condition of power supply..
then check ur BIOS setting
Recommended boot order
1st-CD-ROM
2nd-HARD DRIVE
save and exit...restart and again check that the settings that u made are sustaining or not..like after u changed the boot order does it again revert back to something else...if its the case then try chaging motherboard's battery..if the problem still persists,contact ur hadware vendor..

i think its a PSU problem.maybe something wrong with the molex conectors.
