SOS ....Windows Xp professional Error

i got my pc installed with win Xp but frm the first day itself i get the error


i get the LSA SHELL (Export version ) error in my win xp

after this there is a count down timer for 60 sec and the pc shuts down plllz help


(this error comes mostly after internet connection!!!!) help its urgent

Hey, that looks like a worm to me. Blaster worm (or is it Sasser?) download the Blaster worm removal tool and Sasser removal tool from Microsoft page and download the updates too.

*www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en go there and click on the "Next 45" and download the removal tools and relevant updates

Also, pal, it is better to enable the XP firewall (if u r not using any other) b4 u connect to the net next time

im not sure whether is the blaster
anyways try the mcafee standalone stinger ...
if that doesnt help update ur antivirus definitions and run a thorough scan ...
then make sure to install the patches from the windowsupdate site
o BTW .... when that screen comes ... goto start => run and type in

shutdown -a

so ur pc doesnt shut down in 60 sec. and u can actually do something abt it

Looks like sasser's like iwm pointed out ! Get a firewall, remove the worm and patch up your system.

ya,it is a sasser.but anyway if it occurs again then do the following:
goto start => run and type cmd
then in the command prompt type in :
shutdown.exe -a

Disable worthless services - Remote registry, task scheduler, smart card, upnp etc. Disable the XP look, switch to classic look. Apply SP 2.
