[Solved] New PC needed (open to suggestions)

I would like to purchase a new PC for Office use (MS office, browsing) and light gaming (90s). Should be reliable, last for atleast a decade.
Considered Dell Optiplex 3000. Ready made PCs also fine.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: Office work (MS office, browsing), Games (Witcher 1, Witcher 2, AOE-2 - all from steam)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 50,000 (can be extended a bit if needed)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: 250 to 500 GB (SSD is prefered if possible)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: Yes (22 to 24")

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: NA

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: within Feb 2023

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes. I can assemble.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Banglore / Vellore . Online purchase prefered.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Apart from the above configuration, need an ink-tank printer less than 15,000 (extra from above budget) with scanning and copier with wireless - like directly printing from mobile without connecting to a modem/router and Wifi card needed in PC.
Like I said, open to even ready made PCs from Dell / HP or other good reliable companies. I don't have good knowledge on which Motherboard can accommodate which processor or graphics card. But all the components are present properly, I can assemble it.

Thank You.

Pre-built desktops are usually a poor value. Even budget DIY PC with monitor for gaming is usually a poor value these days because of GPU costs.

A budget PC with i3 12100F + H610 + RX 6600 + 1080p 144Hz monitor will cost 70-75k depending on offers you get. But this is very powerful indeed & will easily last a few years for 1080p high/ultra gaming.

From the above gaming rig, even if I change GPU from a 25k one to a 11k one, like RX6400, and a normal 1080p 60/75Hz monitor, you will save up to 20k, so 55k for the setup.

CPU - Intel i3 12100F - 9k
Mobo - Asus Prime H610M-E D4 - 7.3k
RAM - 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 - 4k
GPU - Sapphire/Powercolor/Asus RX6600 - 24k (prefer Asus)
M.2 SSD - WD SN570 1TB - 6.5k
HDD - None
PSU - Deepcool PM650D 80+ Gold - 4.9k
Cabinet - Deepcool Mattrexx 40 Mesh 3FS - 3.7k
Monitor - LG 24GN650 24″ 1080p 144Hz IPS Freesync - 15k
Total - 74.4k

Budget parts:

Alt GPU - RX 6400 -12k (AsRock seems cheapest at 11k)
Alt Monitor - Samsung LF24T350FHWXXL - 10k (use it at parent's place, good one)
Alt. Total = 57.4k

RX 6600 performs up to 2.5x better than RX 6400 depending on the game, so take your call. 6400 is similar to GTX 1650 with Gen4 PCIe slot.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I think I will skip the GPU for now ;) which will bring me to my budget.
By the way, most of your prices are matching with mdcomputers. Is it a reliable site? I have never purchased from any online stores except amazon.

Or did you all together used some other website for the reference price?

And one more question : is 12th Gen i3 better than 10th Gen i5?

Thanks,

DO NOT get a CPU without iGPU in that case, avoid almost all Ryzen CPUs & Intel F variants.

MD, vedant & primeabgb are the big 3 for PC parts here, many more smaller shops like clarion are also good.

The i3 12100 is much better for gaming than i5 10400/10600K.

Hi,
When searching for the RAMs, I found few RAMs have fancy covers over the chips. Few are naked.
which one to go? Will the cover hinder when placing two RAMs adjacent to each other?

Normal ones will be fine, RGB & heat spreader are optional. 3200MHz is common these days, so its naked versions should be fine.

Heat spreader doesn't hinder RAM, might interfere with some high end air coolers.
