Software Driver for my graphic Card is necessary or window automatic driver is ok?

I have Win 7 64-Bit Home Premium. My Graphic Card is MSI ATI HD 5770 1 GB Hawk. Windows have already automatically installed the driver for my graphic cards under its own file. So my computer is working fine and games are also working good. But here windows says that I should download my Graphic Card Software Driver from AMD Website. So the question is that should I touch with settings of my software driver (which windows have automatically installed) in order to install AMD drivers? Plz tell me.

Installing the driver from AMD is recommended.

the AMD drivers are optimized for performance & bugs that one may encounter in games. the windows driver is a vanilla driver. just the basic files to let the card get up & get going.
