Amd 64 3500 : around 5k i think
X2 3800: 8k+

Asus A8N E, not sli : around 5k+

Geforce 7600GT, better still X1800GTO, better still 7900GT, starting around 10.5k

2gb ram, 1gb X 2

I m looking for SLI only...keeping expansion on mind.
Dont u think SLI will be better... ? And AFAIK it supports most the coming tech. :S

How much 1 GB x 1 would cost me ?

Is A8N-e SLI compatible with x2 ? Right now i m going for 3500+ to reduce final costing. I may upgrade may be after six months or a year.

well .. now that u have the 7950GX2 and 7900GX2 out .. and the A8N-E officially supporting it .. i don't think SLi is really necessary now ..

Also .. about a midrange PC i'd suggest :

X2 3800+ , A8N-E , 1 GB DDR400 , 7600GT ...

If your budget is 50k, then
AMD 3500+: 5.5k
ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe.: 6.4k
2x 1gb: 8.5k
7800GT: 20k
250GBx2 in raid0: 7.8k

Cant afford to put 20k in graphics card :p the question will come why do i need such a good graphics card .. cant answer for GAming ;)

A card better than 6600 Gti PCI-e within budget of 8-10k would be fine wid parents :p

OK this is wat i m finalising

x2 3800+/64 3500+
A8n-e sli deluxe
7600gt 256mb/7600 gs 256
1 gb ram
plus rest all ......

Stil confused about CPu and G C combo though :(

your budget doesn't allow sli. By the time you can afford another graphic card, you will get a single graphic card which is more powerful that the two combined.

No point.

Get a single 7900GT or 1900XT if you want that much power.

I understand your position. Don't tell your parents the cost of individual components, just of the entire set.I didn't tell them what I spent on my upgradation.

In case you can't do that get:

Amd X2 3800
Asus A8N E, not SLI
2 X 1GB DDR 400 Transcend UCCC chips
Radeon X1800GTO
300GB SATA II NCQ HDD
Cooler Master iGreen 500

Ram i ll upgrade after a couple of months so going for 1 Gb right now.
X1800GTO better than 7600 Gs or GT ? whats it cost ? Is it PCi-E ?

Also the reason i m ready to cut down on RAM and GC is for betetr mobo so that i can expand rig further in future.

Is ddr2 compatible with a8n-e ?

wudnt e6300 + 965 based mobo be good combo?
some 965s have onboard gfx which support dx10 i think
so why not buy that and get a dx10 cad after some time?

I suggest u to wait a month or so till AM2 bcomes std. U will get most future proof mobo on AMD or Intel side(for conroes) by that time.

the power supply had 5 and half inch fan :O So i found it good. It comes with 2 more fans fitted in cabinet and has 3 more ventilation rooms to fit equals no. of fans of 2 and half inches. (not sure of the fan sizes)

Though he showed me even better cabinets but those were good for servers. For desktop considering budget in mind i found this great.
