i use w2k ....

my machine doesn`t power on/off automatically even though it has an ATX power supply. By default it

should turn on/off automatically.

i have checked all my connections regarding wires & cleaned the dust also ....

have 2 manually start it or shut it down ... which is painfull ....

had deleted some files (dll & exe files)
RSP001.DLL
BHO.DLL
WinStart.exe
BHO001.DLL
ipinsigt.dll
Rsp.dll
WinStart001.EXE
Update_com.DLL
CGJ.exe
msbb.exe

which norton had detected as virus .... has deleting this files created this problem ....

now in system properties my comp is shown as AT/AT compatible ... how can i change it back 2 ATX

compatible ?????

plz can anybody tell me whot the problem is ????

Make sure Power Supply type is set to ATX in BIOS. Also, its possible that while installing windows 2000, your system is detected as AT and Not ATX. I am afraid you need to reinstall windows to get the correct version of HAL.dll (Hardware abstraction layer) file with ATX support installed.

Right off the assembly line
Facing the same prb.

Hi atul,
I am facing the same prb in win 98. But my prb is tht my M/C was shut down for one month and after tht i had these prb.Bocz of direct shutting down the m/c i had bad sectors in the H/D. Plz suggest me if u get some solution.
