if i set up a web server/mail server on my home PC which gets dynamic IP or laptop which is in office LAN.
in either case if i register a free domain from any free domain service provider will i be able to direct the MX records to my laptop/PC?

any tools which you folks might v used to convert dynamic to static IPs or redirect the mails to my box?

i found one *www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/
wonder whether it works. have you used it?

You should be.

But if its a mail server you are after, it would be much easier to use your ISP's SMTP. (Its usually free). Call them up, get the settings and enter the right settings in PHP.ini.
You have to use your ISP's server for most web mail providers let through your email. Mails from random IPs usually get labeled straightaway as SPAM.

For webserver hosting, try a free provider. There are plenty on the web. Google "free php hosting".

i need it for testing purposes. if i register 3-4 free domains and setup exchange and sendmail servers for the four domains, i need something which can direct the mails to my mail server even though i have a dynamic IP.
