Security and safety.

I am using Windows XP Home SP2 Edition for some month. Since I am very new to the uses of this Operating System, I would like to follow your advices from your practical experiences as to its security and safety,etc.,

Can you inform me how to do those clearly?

in short here are my suggestions :
keep ur xp updated . it solves half ur problems.
use a good anti-virus like avast or avg.
use 2 good anti-spywares viz ms anti-spyware and adaware/spybot.
use zonealarm firewall.
use maxthon, an ie based browser. its got good ad/popup/etc blockers. else switch to firefox.
download XSpy or XP AntiSpy or Safe XP, to plug the holes in WinXP.
clear ur history/junk/cache using ccleaner.
