I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 running Vista Home Premium. I am using a Netgear WGR614 router so that I can have a wireless connection at home. The router has been setup with the following features for security :

I Have,
1. Changed the default router access password.
2. Enabled WPA + WPA2 Security
3. Changed the default SSID and set it to 'do not broadcast SSID'
4. Set a strong pass phrase

The problem is that to connect to the hidden SSID I have to enter the network name and the pass phrase each time. If I dont want to do this, I have to save the connection and set it to connect automatically. I dont want my system to connect without my permission, but I dont want to enter the network name and pass phrase each time either..Is there a way around this?

Question 2 : Do you know of any software that I can use to manage and protect my wireless connection at home?

Thanx
