SATA on IDE mobo

i have ide asrock p4i45gv mobo
i want buy new pc in end of year
but now i have big problem of space
can i install sata hdd on ide mobo?
what about ide to sata controler?
can there big performance diffrent between ide and sata?
where i get ide to sata controler in mumbai?

SATA and IDe are having a big difference SATA has many new features and takes more commands per second than IDE as ide only takes one command per second .. sata is very very fast than IDE and you cant install sata on your mobo ..

Although there is technologically lot of difference in SATA and IDE buses, but as far as 7200RPM HDD's are concerned, real life performance is almost same for all three, IDE, SATA, SATA-II. Because bottleneck is not the transfer bus, but the HDD.

I would suggest you consider the Zippy USB external case for SATA and PATA HDDs... this case handles HDDs of both types. It costs about 1200/- A friend who uses this cases says data transfer speeds of this case is around 33mb/s. But I doubt you can run XP off a HDD connected to this case - you may be only be able to use it for data storage.

what is cost of 7200rpm 200gb ide hdd price?
