Hi,

I have 500GB SATA Seagate Hard Disk and an ASUS P5Q Pro Mobo.
Last day, I had changed the setting in BIOS for my Hard Disk. I had changed the mode of use of my Hard Disk from IDE to RAID. There are a three options IDE, RAID and AHCI. But after that my PC stopped booting.

I got the Black Windows XP screen then my PC restarted! :( :(

I had to change it back to IDE to get the PC booting again! :( :( :(

I would like to use my SATA hard disk as RAID or AHCI and not as IDE.

Could you guys please help me on how to do that. Could you guys also enlighten me what these three options mean and which one is good to use. Thanks.

First of all, for using RAID, you need two disks, preferably identical ones. There are different modes of RAID. Some for speed, some for data security.
AHCI allows for some advanced functions to the hard disk. This is only if you're an advanced user.
IDE is the normal mode of use.
