In the Q&A section of the current October issue, on page 99 is the following intresting question :

I need to run a batch file every time I boot into windows. The files should run before anyone logs on. I use Windows 2000 Server.

I have the same question except that I use Windows XP Pro SP2, after reading the solution there I tired to search the following files Autoexnt.exe, Servmess.dll and Instexnt.exe but with little success.
I want a similar solution for XP, I mean I want my batch file ( which I currently have put in start up folder ) to run as a service.

Go to regedit, navigate to the key (HKLM means HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE)... Sometimes, you may need to create the key RunServices...
Go to the right side, right click and add new String value... For the name, give any meaningful name, and the entry should be the command string...
