red hat enterprise mouse and keyboard not working

hey all computer fanatic guys
i m really in a great trouble guys
i have installed red hat enterprise 3 version of linux

This is my pc configuration:
128 MB RAM
Pentium III 933 Mgz Intel CPU
32 MB Riva TNT Graphics Card
Microsoft Serial Mouse (I think its called serial coz its got 9 pins on its back)
Acer Keyboard

Now when i installed Red Hat Enterprise all the things were working just fine except the mouse.

I gotta graphical login in login .. so i entered the username and password and logged on my machine, to do some r&d and make the mouse work

i went to System Tools (Presseing ALT + F1 key) and went to mouse .. and clicked there serial mouse although it was only serial

then logged off ....

login screen was displayed again ... now muy keyboard is also not working
nor my mouse is working

i m sure the system is not hanged coz the mouse cursor blinks (showsbusy)

is there anybody out there who can help me to bring my ssytem working normally with mouse and keyboard (pls explain in layman;'s term as i m new in linuxx)

and i really want to learn linux .. coz its a supperb operating system

I am not a pro in linux ,but do you have PS2 ports , if yes , then try switching em , try switching the PS2 for the KYB and Mouse , if this does not work at all , i think you have to redo the thing again , you may try clearing the NVRAM , failsafe defaults etc ,
