Recovering Administrator password

In my pc there is windows xp operating system.I have 2 accounts there-one is administrator & another is limited account.
Now last time i have forgot my administrtor password so i could not install any software from my limited account.At last i have to FORMAT my pc.
Pls give me a solution(except that of password recovery set up disc making) how to recover administrator password from a limited account to get rid of that boring format solution.
Is there any software?if there pls give the instruction for that use.

if u have a little knowledge in linux, and u have a knoppix live cd handy, thats very easy.

Hey i can tell you one way by which you can retrieve your admin account but all the desktop settings & account password will be lost.
Just boot in dos mode using bootable cd & go to Windows/Repair there resides a file known as SAM copy it & paste it to Windows/System32/Config

Well if u forget ur password, boot into safe mode, a new account will show up at the logon screen, administrator, open the account and go to user accounts panel and change passwords acc. to ur convenience.
