MONITOR DELL S2409W OR BENQ E2400 (at least 24" is a must for him bigger the better if possible in the budget)
SPEAKERS LOGITECH Z5500 (crazy for music)
S.CARD CREATIVE X-FI XTREAME GAMER (for same cause)
TV CARD please suggest (for local cable connection)
Suggestions are welcome on all the components.

Adopting this approach a good PSU also have to include and budget may will go well beyond 70K. And I told you guys he is not in gaming in a big way. He will use it for music, movies and TV purpose mainly.I hope selected sound card should around 6K.

70k, ask him if he's willing to wait till Feb 09 once.
No, he given me 25th Dec last date.
Ya I know you are thinking about nehalem, X58,DDR3 etc kind of stuff to get little bit affordable by then but I don't think he require such kind of computing power because of no big interest in gaming.
Somebody please suggest a good TV tuner card.
what about PSU zeb bizli's included 400 watts PSU will do the job for that machine (keeping GPU 4850 in mind) or a better one is must if so please suggest.
And a bigger or better display will be welcome if possible by sequencing another 5K or so.

What are you talking about making mess of things. As I told earlier he is not a great gaming buff what will he do with HD4870x2, Q9550, P45, 4GB RAM and where is great set of speakers and a good sound card to use its potential.
I think we should simply consider it as a HT PC.

How about this movie centric rig:

Core2Duo E8400 : 8.5k
MSI P45 Neo-F: 5k
Transcend/Kingston 2Gb x 2 800MHz: 2.5k
Seagate sata2 1 Terabyte (32 MB Buffer) : 6k
LG Bluray writer : 15k or Sony Bluray ROM : 11k (bluray drive writes cds and dvds)
Coolermaster Elite 330 black: 1.8k
Coolermaster Extreme Power + 500W : 2.5k
Palit 9600GT: 6k or 9500GT for 4.5k
Dell 2409WFP: around 20k
Logitech Z5500D: around 17k
Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeGamer : 6k
Leadtek winfast palmtop TV tuner : 3k
Logitech laser mouse + wireless keyboard: 4k
apc 650va ups: 3.5k

Price can be reduced if:

buy benq 22" display (7k saved)
dvd writer instead of bluray writer (13k saved)

You do need a card like 9500GT or atleast an 8600GT if you want to play Highdefinition vidoes without hiccups.

very impressive configuration
But I think we still have to compromise on prossy and mobo to stay in the budget by going with E7200,G31 based mobo, Benq T2200HD,DVD writer
Rest of components totally agreed with you.
Thanks guys

There is another way to cut down cost.

Z5500 has a optical/co-ax in for audio and it has DTS/Dolby amplifier which means that you need not buy the XtremeGamer card. Use 1 x SPDIF-Out connector on MSI P45 Neo-F to passthrough the digital audio to Z5500's amplifier. That would save 6k.

Get 500Gb HDD for 3.5k instead of 1TB for 6k. That would save another 2.5k. Now, the price should be around 70k.

BIG bro first of all I'm really thankful to you for taking such a deep interest in this thread.
But I don't think we should cut down the stand alone sound card because all the stuff is not going to be digital and in analogue audio on board audio never ever can compete to xi-fi xtreme gamer. Also learn somewhere that onboard s.cards just not simpy bypass audio stream from its SPDIF channel without prossesing it (not shure how much true it is please make it clear to me).
And going with P45 instead of G31 will also add up 3K or so. So I think no compromise should be made hare for saving just 3K in total by flushing out such a great s.card.
Your other idea is good one as he can add up GBs or TBs anytime latter.
Thanks ones again.

Okay. See, for audio, since Z5500 comes with an amplifier.

If you put Z5500+XtremeGamer together. You will be under utilizing one of the two.

If you do spdif passthrough, XtremeGamer is underutilized (and moreover, I dont' think you will crank up bass of Z5500).

If you use dts/dobly encoding on xtremegamer, you won't be using Z5500's amplifier.

BTW, I think Z5500's amplifier won't work with games (if you do spdif passthrough).

So, think again about the speakers.

Something like this one: *in.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=789&product=10814&listby=

Creative Gigaworks G500 THX certified 5.1.

It's not as loud as the Z5500.

Check this one. It's lot lot lot more perfect than the Z5500.

Mr.Adithya (adithyagenius) bought these.

OK bro, guess what the whole picture has changed a little bit as he surrendered on my one year old vanilla logitech Z5300 for himself made me speaker less PC owner.
And I simply can't live without movies in 5.1 channel, music and gaming. And now I got a chance to push my listening experience even further.
So suggest me best total sound solution for my apps on PC under 30K max reserved for speakers only at one go and I can shell out few bucks later for sound card or for changing my motherboard if you think so (as I own Asus P5KPL-VM with onboard Realtek HD audio) for the sake of high end audio.
Or should I go home theater in a box way like from ONKYO, JBL, DENON, etc in this budget?
Last but not the least if possible under 30K should I arrange speakers, A/V receiver, sub woofer, all sperately from different manufactures to make perfectly balanced sound solution setup for my apps.If yes please suggest all the components under 30K in total (excluding sound card or m.board as it will be done latter). I can take pain of runing here and there for compnenets becouse it should be a long time investment and should serve me(punish nabours) long.

hmmm. 30k for pc speakers is totally unnecessary.

put your limit at 20k for pc speakers.

If you want some good audio config for 30k, invest in Home Theatre Setup.

I would say something like this: *www.sony.co.in/product/dav-dz777

1000W RMS of audio. wireless rear speakers with stands. That's a killer configuration to get immersed in audio.

If you want to make your friends/visitors wonder from where audio is coming from, get this one: *www.sony.co.in/product/dav-is10

size of each satellite speaker is 45 x 50 x 40 mm

For PC's, go for the Onkyo 5.1 setup (s5100 I think). that should be more than enough.

Most of the time you will not be utilizing the surround sound effect as dvd-audio is not yet available in India. And by investing 30k for speakers, you can only feel good when you turn on high-def content or dual-layer DVD's (original) that give DTS/Dolby audio.

I am not at all good at selecting individual components. My suggestion for you is to visit Sonodyne and Onkyo showroom and talk to the specialists there and they will help you get exactly what you are looking for.

PS: Make sure you learn about audio terminology before going. RMS isn't everything that you have to look at while selecting speakers. :)

Hello bro,

Sorry for I was couple of days off.

Ya I was was taking demo's of some good music systems including your suggestions.

First of all I went to Sony listen DAV DZ777, DAV DZ370 both same in specification apart from there dimensions both of them overpriced for there performance I think.

Then I litsen Quite a few others as well really dispoiting not even worth mentioning here in the forum.

Then I went to went to delhi for not having Onkyo outlet locally. They have awesome range in HTIB's .

FIrst of all I listen there newly launched 5.1 channel HT 5105B EXEHILARTATOR good enough in music but lack some punch in sub I think not suited for gaming (One of my apps).

Then came 7.1 CHANNEL HT 5100 BLAZER. Man it is a hell of music system simply blown me off. Every thing included is great in it. It includes virtually every mazor music standards Including Pro Logic IIx only THX was missing (strange). Never the less in my oppion it is best in its price range.

But but but I fell short on bucks this time as it comes in 42K (really worth the price for its performace).

So I had to sattle for well tried and tested LOGITECH Z 5500 at that point of time I will go for ONKYO HT 5100 or even better if availble some time in future as I get chanses every now and then to get rid of my stuff.

Now big quation what about input stream as my onboard REALTEK HDA not upto the mark.

My ASUS PMKPL-VM have S/PDIF concetable pins onboard but the socket is mising and S/PDIF AUDIO MODULE cards are rear and fullishly costly so this option sucks (real bad stuff from ASUS as they simply could give the socket onboard even not adding a peny).

Changing motherboard now adds 4K or so includind selling two months old ASUS PMKPL-VM and will still not compete in gaming by cobinning with my speaker set to a good stand alone soundcard and I'm considering nehalem platform in three months or so as well.

So in my opnion I should have to go with a good stand alone soundcard. I personly prefer CREATIVE XI-FI XTREME GAMER. What about ASUS XONAR series and M-AUDIO one's.

So suggest me best total solution under 8K max.

Please reaply soon guys as I have make my purchase this monday.
