hello guys.
i already have a 2gb DDR2 Transcend RAM@800Mhz.
i want to upgrade with a 2*2gb @800Mhz Kit.
what is the cheapest and the best 2*2gb @800Mhz module from Corsair,G Skill and OCZ.
OCing is not important and my budget is 4k MAX but would love to buy in the range of 3k!

and have DDR2 prices reduced in India?
thank you

how are these models?

G-Skill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ (2GB x 2) 800 MHz @ 3.2k

Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5(2 X 2GB DDR2 800MhZ C5) @3.3K

Both G skill and Corsair are gr8 brands buddy.. :)
-------------

I myself hv a Corsair RAM (see my siggy).. :)

But, u can go for any of the above brands, take a RAM which has low latency.. :)

I bought 2 Gigs of Transcend 667 RAM, a couple of months back I just costed my 1600 bucks, 800 MHz should cost somewhere near

Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5
Each module pair is tested together at 800MHz

Tested and packaged in pairs
Packaged together immediately following
system test
Tested at JEDEC standard latency settings
(5-5-5-18 )at 1.9V
SPD programmed at:
JEDEC standard 5-5-5-18 values at
800MHz

or

GSkill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ

CAS_Latency 5-5-5-15
Capacity 4GB (2GB x 2)
Speed DDR2-800 (PC2-6400)
Test_Voltage 1.8 ~ 1.9 Volts

Well, if NOT OCing, and as per the above 2 options (Corsair and G SKill)

Go for G Skill... as it has got less latency as compared to the Corsair one..
but yes, this is also a FACT that Corsair RAMs hv a 10Year warranty, so if i were u, i wud hv gone for Corsair....(even though the latency is a bit on the higher side).. :)

RAMs of different brands can be used BUT BUT BUT ONLY if their Latencies match EXACTLY same.. :) like 3-3-3-12 or sum thing of this sort, hope ur doubt is cleared now.. :)

also, Corsair offers 10Yr warranty on its products, i hv no idea abt g Skill man.. :(

i meant a Gskill/corsair kit on dual channel and Transcend on the 3rd slot.
there wont be any computability issues right?
btw my transcend latency is 5-5-5-18 and the GSkill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ has 5-5-5-15....that's hardly any difference right?is Gskill worth the extra money??

hmmm...thanks
but are you SURE that the 0-0-0-3 lower latency would make a huge diff in Gkill/Corsair?
im sry to ask again...its just that i want to make sure the money i spent is worth while...:)

Man get anyone of them. If you had an AMD CPU, then your need would have been one with

CAS latency - - 4-4-4-12

BTW, anyone noes of a 4GB kit with the aforementioned timings? Please tell me, post here or PM me ASAP!!!!!

Dnt be sorry dude,.. :) well, even im not sure abt the 0-0-0-3 making a huge difference or wat,

I think the overall performance also depends on ur system specs (for these RAMs to giv ultimate performance) i may be wrong, but even im not tat expert in these things.. :(
