I have a HP PC with Award Bios. This BIOS provides a maximum of 16 MB to be reserved for Graphics. I have 320 MB RAM and would like to increase the amount of RAM reserved for Graphics. The HP site has got only the old version of BIOS (relase date -2001). What should I do to increase the RAM reserved for Graphics (if suppose I go for BIOS upgrade). What precautions should I take while updating the BIOS?

if everything is working fine, don't go for BIOS flashing,it's not for the faint hearted, since it can (oops) not be recovered if any thing goes wrong.
u can not get more shared memory with BIOS upgrade.
but in order to improve performance u can increase the page file of the system and install LATEST graphics drivers and DirectX.

I suggest thet u go for the bios update if it allows to reserve more ram to the graphics . flashing bios if the newer version is available is recommended . :D
