RAID 0 and linux

i have SATA HDD's on RAID 0.
win XP is installed on these, with some space left for linux install.

however, ubuntu 6.10 shows 2 unformatted HDD's when i try to install it, while there should be a single RAID 0 device.

does any other distro suport RAID 0? or is there any way to install ubuntu.

i have Segate HDD and MSI RS480 motherboard with sata controller.

actually, i found this link, and followed it

however, when i run gparted, it shows no RAID drives, just sda and sdb.

while dmraid -ay
shows all my raid partitions which i had created from windows.

i used ubuntu, 6.10. i think i should try with 6.06

^ That is expected with gParted. What you need to do is create equal sized partitions on both drives with partition type as "Linux RAID". Don't choose Reiserfs or ext3 just yet. Then you need to click on "configure raid" (or something like that I don't remember exactly). From there you link both the partitions as one RAID array and choose your RAID type like 0, 1, 5 etc.

Once you exit the RAID config window, you will see that a single partition has been created for you. Now you can edit its type and mount point etc.
