PS3 is the most powerful console at present . All because of its Cell Broadband Processor! Now a Japanese company has a solution to harness the power of the Cell , and use it for Video Encoding. We are not far away from utilizing the cell broadband for our normal PC!
A Japanese company,Fixstars Corporation, has announced a software to access the PS3`s cell power and use it to encode H.264 video, which would be very much helpful for the Video editors and designers. This software called CodecSys CE-10. This software which will be the middle man would be installed on a PC and this software will power the video encoder to use Cell Broadband Power! A really cheap alternative for video encoders. If they can harness this , what next ? if we could only get a little more access , we can have a full working PC with the power built into the ps3.
When asked about how this will work , they just showed a picture as follows
