Ever since the launch of PlayStation 3 (PS3) in the country, Sony is trying hard to have a stronghold on the console gaming market in the country.
The company has been dropping the price of its PlayStation line-up not just in India but also across the globe. Last 2 months have witnessed serious price drops for the PS3, PS2, and PSP.
The PS3 is now available for Rs.29,990, while the PS2 and PSP prices have come down to Rs.6,990 and Rs.8,990, respectively. These price drops are in line with the European markets.
Sony claims that since the price cut, there has been an immediate jump in sales across the country.
Now, the company plans to cash-in on the festive season. And this time, the company isn't targeting consoles but the games that you play on those consoles.
Sony plans to increase the number of game titles officially available in the Indian market at reduced prices.
The Playstation games will now be available for a price starting at Rs.499. According to the company expectations, almost 50% of all the titles will cost below Rs.1,000.
